[How to add widget area under the banner image?]

Hi,
I would like to add widget area under my banner… I need this area for a widget with announcement text… It would be great if someone could help me, because I have tried this many times but everytime without success…

So I just need add a widget bar above the navigation menu, or at least under the banner header image….

now I can use only above content widget area but this is not on the full size of websites…

I added widget area, add style of widget but I dont know where to register this widget?

I can see the widget area in widgets in settings, but I cannot add widget to this area, because I registered it bad…

I used this manual:

First step is OK, I just add this line under the header
Second step is the problem – I cannot find registered lie in mantra theme
Third ste is OK, I just add this to style.css
