Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
Hello Word is WordPress’ sample post which can be replaced with your own or deleted if you don’t intend to use posts.
I’m not sure what you mean by search box, the theme’s search fields are controllable through the available options (and only the header one is enabled by default).
If you’re referring to a search form displayed in the content itself, that’s placed there by WordPress because your site has no other content on the section where it is located. Add some content or reconfigure the section to display something else (like a static page) and the search form will go away.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
The logo is limited to the available menu bar height by default, but can be made to overflow its limits using custom styling, for example:
body img.custom-logo { max-height: 200px; }
Adjust the value as needed for your site.
The means for adding the logo to the footer differs depending on where exactly you want it placed (in the footer widgets, in the footer text fields, in a custom location).

Cryout Creations mastermindWordPress 6.0.1 undid/corrected the change that cause the customize screen issue on sites with empty post categories.
If you’re running 6.0.1 your site should no longer manifest this issue regardless of the theme and theme version used.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
The pin control option currently only applies to in-content images – we’ll address that in the next theme update.
Until then, use the following CSS to remove the pin in the sidebar:
body .wp-caption { background-image: none; }

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThe header navigation does not have independent typography controls in Bravada. You can customize it nonetheless using custom CSS styling, for example:
nav#access { font-family: Impact; }
Replace with your own font identifier – make sure it is already available on the site or in (most of) the browsers/operating systems, or is embedded separately.

Customizer is still not working for me. Some of the customizer menus like Menus, Miscellaneous the text overlaps the original menu and is unreadable. The other customizer options slide in but the original customizer choices do not slide away or hide.
I’m using the Bravada theme and I had a Child theme for Bravada also not working but was working before the latest update. I have tried turning off plugins but that doesn’t correct the issue. I’m running WP 6.0.1 but the pho is older 7.3- could the pho version be the problem?

Ok so it seems there is a problem with css file. I Just copied this part from main css file to custom css
.wp-custom-header video {
object-fit: cover;
max-width: 100%;
}and it’s working.
For some reason published website read max-width: 50%; instead of 100% and changing main css file is not working.Website: badsad.pl

Thanks, it helped a bit! At least I have access again to “Design/Curtomizer”.
There is still a warning in the visual view, but I can do things there. Before the post, I didn’t have any access there.
This still shows up:

Power UserI started getting a similar error on another site I own using another Cryout theme (Septera Plus). When trying to access the customizer… I was being told by the website that there was a server error and that the admin has been sent an email. I checked my email and I did receive an email with a link to the same errored page that created it. No solution, but an acknowledgement I have an issue with the website. I have a third website using Septera Plus but that site isn’t experiencing any issues. I figured there must be something else going on besides just the theme I’m using… however, I’m not having any issues when switching and using a default theme. I filed a support ticket with Cryout and I received an immediate reply that has solved my problem.
I was assured they are aware of the issue with the customizer.. but working on a synced fix with all the code sets they use can be a challenge. In the interim, they suggested I check to make sure I don’t have any categories that do not have any posts associated. Sure enough… I had one category I just created and there weren’t any posts yet. I created a sample post under that category and my word press customizer became accessible again.
This solves my problem for Kahuna Plus and any other Cryout theme I’m using. This was the difference between the two websites both installed with Septera Plus. One had posts for all the categories and one website had 0 posts listed for one of my categories. Once I created a sample post I could access the customizer.
I have been told they are aware of the problem and are working on a fix. I hope some of this information helps you.
June 30th, 2022 at 15:09 #130904In reply to: How to set the right sidebar to position:sticky
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindI provided that CSS as a preview on the further issues that would need to be resolved concerning CSS sticky positioning for the sidebar content.
The main problem is that
position: sticky
only works when there’s a parent container that has scrolling active on it. As both the sidebar (regardless of its height) and the main content are part of the same parent container and share horizontal space, the container doesn’t need internal scrolling and it expands to fit whichever of the two child elements is taller.
To have the sidebar act as being sticky with the current theme layout most likely JavaScript is needed to manipulate its positioning on scroll.If you like our creations, help us share by rating them on WordPress.org.

Hopefully the attachment will show what I mean, but I couldn’t see how to attach it…
What I am trying to achieve is the top menu is to be a different font (Semiramis),, and only that.
But you can see that the body of the blog post is also changed (don’t want that).
The “Recent Posts” and “Recent Comments” titles are changed (don’t want that).The only control I have found to control the font on the “top menu” is under “General Font” but then I get all the other side effects as described above, which are undesirable.
Hopefully that makes sense, but without the picture it might not.

June 29th, 2022 at 13:23 #130873In reply to: How to set the right sidebar to position:sticky
That introduces some weird behaviour! Sometimes it’s sticky, most times it’s not. I get the feeling, when opening the dev-tools in Firefox, it helps a bit with the sticky positioning, on closing the dev-tools it returns to non-functional state.
It also adds a vertical scrollbar, which does funny things. When scrolling down the page, it also scrolls down, as if it was linked with the overall page somehow. :o)
Here’s one page with sufficient height:

June 28th, 2022 at 17:25 #130857In reply to: How to set the right sidebar to position:sticky
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
The sidebar has the same height as its container (which also holds the main content and spans the full height of the site itself) so the sticky positioning has no effect on its placement with the current layout. The full height is required for the sidebar background color option to work correctly and the sticky positioning would require limiting the height of the parent container (to, for example, the viewport height):
#container { max-height: 100vh; overflow: auto !important; display: block; } #secondary { position: sticky; height: auto; top: 1px; }

Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
Tempera uses only circles as list bullets, but applies different indentation for nested lists. This can be seen in the theme’s demo: https://demos.cryoutcreations.eu/wordpress/tempera/typograpy/
You can restore the default browser list bullets with some CSS:
body .entry-content ul li { list-style-type: disc; } body .entry-content ul ul li { list-style-type: circle; } body .entry-content ul ul ul li { list-style-type: square; }

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
There is a compatibility issue in some of our themes, including Anima, that affects the availability of the Customize screen with WordPress 6.0.
We are working on updating all our themes that are affected by this issue, but some of them will take a bit longer than others because they are more out of sync with the main codebase we work with.
In the meantime, a workaround to the issue is to check and ensure that your site has no empty categories. If you do not use posts on the site, ensure that at least one (empty) post is assigned to the non-deletable Uncategorised category.

I tried posting this onthe “How To” forum but never got any help, trying on this forum for an answer.
hello, I’m sure this is an easy fix but I can’t seem to find the control for it. I am trying to customize the font for my blog entry different than the “general font ” selection that seems to currently control it and the menu titles. When I change Typography, General Font, and use Semiramis font, I get the desired font but it also changes the font of the blog body content. How can I fix it so the titles are in Semiramis font but the blog body is a different font ?Website: copperwood-edmonton.xyz
June 18th, 2022 at 13:52 #130607In reply to: Submenu in header should be transparent
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindGenerally, leaving the background color field empty in the theme options disables that specific background.
Bravada uses the same background color for the submenus as the side menu, so if you want to customize the submenus independently you’ll need to use CSS:
body #access ul.sub-menu li a, body #access ul.children li a { background-color: transparent; }

Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
I believe we’re already resolved this through the support system, but for everyone having the same question it is important to note that plugins and themes need to be installed through different management sections in the WordPress dashboard:
– themes are managed and installed under Appearance > Themes
– plugins are managed and installed under PluginsMixing the two will throw an error like the one you are seeing because you are trying to upload the wrong extension type to what WordPress is expecting in that uploader.

Cryout Creations mastermindHi,
That is usually an indication that the site believes itself being located at a different URL than the one you’re accessing it through (this can be as simple as the presence or absence of www. or https:// in the URL), making your browser fail the same-origin policy rules.
You’ll need to identify if you’ve made the URL transfer correctly everywhere where needed, as indicated on: https://wordpress.org/support/article/moving-wordpress/

I tried reinstalling also. Didn’t help here either.
I tested a few other theme’s they all seem to work with the customizer (but they do have other settings and customization). The ones I tried had updates available right after WordPress updated this morning.
My lesson learned, WordPress automatic update is not something I really want, I always wait to update anything. I had automatic updates disabled on my plugins and theme, but not WordPress itself, didn’t even thought about that. I’m used getting a notification that an update is available on other software I use, not used to auto update things, especially a server.
Dumb mistake on my part …
