Cryout Creations mastermindI interpreted your ‘avoid’ expression in the initial message as the wish to remove the link functionality from the post titles. That is what the code customization does.
Were you looking to achieve something else?

Power UserHello again,
OK, I installed the update, emptied the Autoptimize-cache and retried: Same result. Then I deactivated the complete plugin and everything worked like a charm. To be sure, I re-activated it and, as expected, the problem reappeared. As I would like to keep the plug-in, I had to go through the options and finally found that deactivating the option “optimize CSS code” finally did the trick. Thank you for your help!

Cryout Creations mastermindAll the text on the first two sections is wrapped in headings tags (specifically H4), so it has the theme’s headings font option applied to it, while the posts list uses the general font option (as configured in the theme).

Cryout Creations mastermindWe haven’t encountered this behaviour before.
Try to update Kahuna (to ensure its files are unmodified) and temporarily deactivate the child theme (to exclude its effects).

Power UserHello Zed,
thank you for having taken the time to reply. And a very happy and successful new year to all the good folks from Cryout Creations !
As for my problem, I don’t think the cache was the problem. 1st of all:
I don’t have a caching plugin installed, so this could only be the Apache-cache. I emptied that, the problem persisted. To verify again, I redid the update today – exactly the same problem.
Here are links to screenshots before and after the update, so you can see for yourself.

December 31st, 2018 at 22:31 #72265In reply to: Twitter card not working for blog posts
I have another website using another theme and I don’t have this issue (and I haven’t installed any social SEO or sharing plugin). This is not happening when tweeting youtube’s url, the thumb is automatically generated. I tried the twitter validator https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator and I got the following error:
INFO: Page fetched successfully INFO: 5 metatags were found ERROR: No card found (Card error)
It seems that the page (website) needs to include metadata to show the image: https://twittercommunity.com/t/error-no-card-found-card-error/107179
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Claudia-

December 31st, 2018 at 18:32 #72259In reply to: LOGO LINKED?
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindKahuna uses core WordPress functionality to retrieve the logo and the target link. You can use either the ‘home_url‘ filter to replace the home URL sitewide, or the ‘get_custom_logo‘ filter to customize the logo image/link markup.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindYou can use WordPress’ comment_form_default_fields filter or a plugin to control the fields displayed in the comments form.
If you use custom code use a number higher than 11 for the priority parameter (to make sure your filter is applied after the theme’s).

Power UserGood day,
my image in the sidebar also refused to work the same way as before the update. It got hungry: Now the text I had underneath is in the picture.
I already emptied my cache, both by using a WP plugin and by removing all browser cache, then tried F5 a couple of times. Not a change.
Edit: I was able to fix it by putting the text into a div element.
Kind regards,

December 31st, 2018 at 15:47 #72230In reply to: Accessibility
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindWe do not currently intend to add accessibility support for Nirvana’s menu. We’ve done this with our newer themes and we’ve learned that due to CSS and browsers limitations, accessibility is usually incompatible with any advanced menu behaviour like animations and transitions.
Additionally, Nirvana uses the same menu structure for both desktops and mobile devices (styled differently) and this complicates matters further.
However, since the site is running WordPress, Nirvana can accommodate (with minor tweaks – I believe an ID/classname change is sufficient) a menu plugin which integrates accessibility support (but which will lack any of the theme’s inherent menu styling).

Hi, I’m still experiencing the same behavior. Any help is appreciated.
The same happens with the amount of replies that I have in a blog post. For example it said 4 comments instead of 4 comentarios. Same behavior for the date. It said 4 meses ago instead of 4 meses atrás. See https://claudia-badell.com/talk-at-agile-testing-days-usa-testing-as-part-of-the-team-culture/
Thanks!
ClaudiaDecember 28th, 2018 at 20:14 #72129I think I’ve answered my own question, replacing the code from frontend.js in my earlier post with the following achieves the behaviour I’m looking for:
/* Close mobile menu on click/tap */
jQuery(‘body’).on(‘click’,’#mobile-nav a’, function(evt) {
var anchor = jQuery(evt.target).parent();
if (typeof anchor.attr(“href”) == “undefined” || anchor.attr(“href”) == “#”) {
var li = anchor.parent();
var buttons = li.children(“button”);
buttons.click();
} else {
jQuery(‘#nav-cancel i’).trigger(‘click’);
}
});In my opinion this is far less confusing for the use that simply closing the mobile menu if a submenu link that doesn’t have it’s own target is clicked. Any chance of this patch being integrated back into the official version?
December 18th, 2018 at 21:44 #71702In reply to: Button style different since Nirvana update
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThe order styles are applied usually matters when trying to override previous styling.
Prepending body to the identifiers will make them specific enought to work in either field.The buttons still have their borders in the theme, but the styling cleanup and optimization done for 1.5 most likely made it so that now the visual composer plugin overlaps it, specifically:
.vc_custom_heading a, .vc_custom_heading a:focus, .vc_custom_heading a:hover, .vc_custom_heading a:visited { border: none; color: inherit; }

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindHi Dieter,
Thank you for your contribution, however we currently use WordPress’ GlotPress project for translations and no longer bundle them with the themes. This ensures that several people can contribute to a particular translation and translated strings are also reviewed by an editor familiar with the language, while completed translations automatically become available for those using WordPress in a particular language (even without updating or reinstalling the theme).
I would submit your translation to the project, but I am not sure if it fits under German (default) or German (formal).

Power UserI placed the code above in to the “Curstom CSS” field in the “Customizer” of wordpress. This seems to work as intended and it prooves that I used the correct code.
So why doesn’t it work when I place the code into the style.css of the child theme?

Thanks, Zed
I tested the Gutenberg plugin today with Mantra theme and it appeared to be line breaking each space in the image caption, similar to the above. I tried and it fixed it but what a hassle.This code may help but I will probably use the Classic Editor plugin until WP works out some of the kinks. I was surprised how many issues there was in the new editor interface. No wrapping images? Not WYSIYG? Sheesh.
December 2nd, 2018 at 21:19 #71063In reply to: Page with list of tags
Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindYour question is not theme-specific and I am not sure I understand what you’re trying to do. Are you trying to list taxonomies in a page or list posts belonging to a specific taxonomy?
Both tasks most likely require a plugin (if one exists) or writing custom (short)code for them. WordPress does not provide a way of listing either taxonomies or posts inside a static page’s content.

Zed
Cryout Creations mastermindThe features boxes images should be uploaded at the configured height and computed width (content width divided by the number of columns). The theme then resizes them on view while keeping their aspect ratio.
If the currently configured image height and site width/column count cause the images to get cropped in an undesirable way, adjust the configurable values to better fit the images.
